9/11 Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration

The Battle of Plattsburgh, also known as the Battle of Lake Champlain, ended the final invasion of the northern states during the War of 1812. Join us as we commemorate the Bicentennial of General Alexander Macomb’s and Master Commandant Thomas MacDonough’s defeat of the British army on September 11, 1814. The commemoration weekend runs from September 8-11 with tours, concerts, reenactments, fireworks, entertainment, parades and much more for the whole family to enjoy! 9/11 Race to the Eagle: A Vertical Race Inside the Macdonough Monument!

CCHA is parnering with the Champlain Valley Search and Rescue K9 Unit to host a vertical race up the steps inside the Macdonough Monument during the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration! Entry fee is $10 per person. Each racer will receive a button and the overall winner will receive a cash prize of $200.
