The Wild Center hosts a weekly Farmer's Market where you can meet farmers and take home some of the wonderful local food grown in the Adirondack region. 9/4 Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration

Location: Plattsburgh, NY

A week long to commemoration of a pivotal battle during the War of 1812. The battle of Plattsburgh is commemorated by re-enactments on land and on Lake Champlain, encampment on the Kent Delord Museum, showing how soldiers and their families lived during the battle. Location: Valcour Island- Bluff Point

Placed in service in 1874, the Bluff Point Lighthouse was one of the last lighthouses to be manned on Lake Champlain.  The Kayak Shack guides lead you to the lighthouse for a fascinating self tour and then enjoy some paddling near Valcour Island.  This is a unique opportunity as it is only accessible by water and only on Sundays in the summer season.  Please call 518-566-0505 or email for reservations.

9/19 Bluff Point Lighthouse Tours

Location: Valcour Island- Bluff Point

Placed in service in 1874, the Bluff Point Lighthouse was one of the last lighthouses to be manned on Lake Champlain.  The Kayak Shack guides lead you to the lighthouse for a fascinating self tour and then enjoy some paddling near Valcour Island.  This is a unique opportunity as it is only accessible by water and only on Sundays in the summer season.  Please call 518-566-0505 or email for reservations.
