Plattsburgh, NY– 06/23/2011 – The Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau, along with the City of Plattsburgh, will host the FLW Everstart Series starting today, Thursday June 23 – Saturday, June 25 and the FLW National Guard College Series Saturday June 25.
FLW Everstart Series
The EverStart Series is offers anglers a chance to compete for $35,000 in cash and prizes in this three day regional tournaments with the ultimate goal of advancing to the FLW Tour. Comprised of five divisions each division offers four events with the top 40 anglers qualifying for the EverStart Series Championship.
Weigh-ins take place every day at Dock Street Landing beginning at 2pm (located across from the Naked Turtle). The weigh-ins are open to the public and our nationally televised.
National Guard FLW College Fishing Series
Introduced in 2008, FLW College Fishing was intended to help grow the sport of bass fishing. These one day tournaments offer teams from four year colleges and universities the opportunity to compete for scholarship money for their school and bass club. Featuring five divisions there are four qualifying events in each division, the top five teams from each qualifying event advance to a regional championship from there the top five teams from each regional advance to a national championship. At the national championship teams are competing for a top prize of $100,000 and the opportunity to advance to the Forrest Wood Cup, the world championship of bass fishing.
Plattsburgh State University won on home waters just two years ago and will be trying again this year. Weigh-in begins at 12pm on Saturday June 25 at Dock street landing. This weigh-in is open to the public we look forward to seeing residents come out and support our local anglers.
