Heritage Trail

Trail Highlights

City Hall - Featuring a rotunda with colorful murals depicting the history of the area from its legendary beginning to the present.

Macdonough Monument - Built in 1926 to honor Commodore Thomas Macdonough's victory over the British September 11, 1814 in the Battle of Plattsburgh.  

Kent Delord House - One of the oldest period structures in Plattsburgh, built in 1797.  This home is now a museum open to the public and exhibits feature 19th century history.  Open year round. 

Champlain Monument - A gift from France in 1909 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain's discovery of Lake Champlain.

Trinity Park - Formerly called Market Square, it is again used as a farmers and crafters' marketplace in the summer months.

Clinton County Historical Museum - Built in 1805, the historic "Three Chimneys Building" is now home to the Clinton County Historical Museum.  Its exhibits interpret the area's history from 1600 to the present day.
