Rail Explorers

Rail Explorers is your ticket to exploring the wild and scenic beauty of the Adirondacks in a totally new and exciting way. Whether you are a long time local or visiting with family or friends, everyone will love railbiking through this spectacular region, immersed in the wild but guided by the rails. Bring your camera to capture the fun, or your binoculars to spot the local wildlife, including eagles and osprey. Rail Explorers brings together the freedom of the wilderness with the magic of the rails to create an unforgettable experience. This spectacular Railbike journey rolls along six miles of track between Saranac Lake and Lake Clear in New York’s Adirondacks. Listen to the birds as you pedal through wilderness inaccessable by car, relax with the tranquility of the lake as you cross Lake Colby‘s narraw causeway and get lost in the sky as the track takes you on this journey surrounded by the majestic Adirondack Mountains.
