Dairy farming is by far the biggest agricultural enterprise on the Adirondack Coast. More than 120 dairy farms house close to 20,000 dairy cows. Some of the largest family-owned dairy farms in New York State are found on the Adirondack Coast and help contribute to the 380 million pounds of milk produced here annually. You can find this milk in familiar products, such as Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, McCadam Cheese, and various Cabot products, including butter, cheese, and Greek yogurt.
