This short loop through cornfields, woodlands, and pastures travels through Beekmantown and Chazy. With almost no climbing involved the trail follows Lake Shore Road as it winds along the coast of the Lake Champlain, with spectacular views of the island of South Hero and the Green Mountains of Vermont all year long.
Along the way experience roadside sugar maple trees, once the snow starts to melt, sugar shacks heat up with the production of liquid gold - genuine maple syrup. Here you can learn what goes into making maple syrup and taste the sweet treat that was just down in the ‘sugar shack.’
During the summer months, the marinas throughout the route are filled with sailboats, and the fall offers some of the most beautiful foliage in the country for cyclists to enjoy.
